Overview
Roamark helps you record and explore places you have visited. The app is designed to be local-first: your visit history, notes, photos, and voice notes stay on your device unless you choose a feature that syncs data to your Roamark account.
Information We Process
Depending on the features you use, Roamark may process:
- Account information: your Firebase account identifier and the email address or sign-in provider used to sign in.
- Travel information: places, visit dates, notes, ratings, tags, and other travel progress you create.
- Photos: photos you select or capture for places. They remain on your device unless cloud sync is enabled, in which case they are uploaded to Firebase Cloud Storage for your account.
- Voice notes: recordings are stored locally on your device. Roamark does not upload voice-note audio as part of cloud sync.
- Photo location metadata: if you use Photo Discovery, Roamark can read GPS metadata in photos you select to suggest places you may have visited. This processing happens on your device.
- Traveler Picks: if you choose to recommend a place, Roamark stores the place name, country, state/province or region, city or area, category, and one recommendation record. Recommendations are anonymous by default. You may separately choose to show your Roamark display name; your email, photos, notes, and travel history are never included in a Traveler Pick.
- Purchase information: product identifiers, purchase tokens, and entitlement status used to verify purchases and unlock features. Payment card details are handled by Google Play and are not provided to Roamark.
- Diagnostics and usage: Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics may collect device, app-version, event, and crash information to improve reliability.
Permissions
Roamark requests permissions only for features you choose to use:
- Photos and media: to let you select and save place photos.
- Photo location metadata: if you choose Photo Discovery, access to photo metadata helps Roamark identify places represented by your selected photos.
- Microphone: to record an optional voice note. Roamark shows an in-app explanation before requesting microphone access.
You can change permissions at any time in your device settings. Some features will not work without their related permission.
Services We Use
Roamark uses Google Firebase for authentication, cloud data storage, cloud functions, analytics, and crash reporting. It uses Google Maps Platform to display interactive maps and to open Google Maps when you choose live discovery or directions. It uses Google Play Billing to process purchases. These providers process information under their own privacy terms and policies.
How We Use Information
We use information to provide the app, synchronize data you choose to sync, verify purchases, preserve your saved ideas and travel progress, maintain security, and diagnose app failures. Traveler Picks help signed-in users discover places recommended by other travelers. A pick is not made public until at least five separate people recommend the same place. We do not sell your personal information.
Account and Data Deletion
You can delete your account from the Privacy section inside Roamark. This permanently deletes your Firebase account and cloud data associated with it, including your Traveler Pick contributions and any optional display-name attribution. Aggregate recommendation counts are adjusted when your contribution is removed. Local app data is also cleared during the deletion flow. Google Play purchases are managed through Google Play and may remain visible in your Google account purchase history as required by Google.
Data Security and Retention
We use Firebase security controls and authenticated access to protect cloud data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We retain cloud data only while your account remains active, except where longer retention is required for legal, security, or transaction-record purposes.
Children
Roamark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
